WAMY Malaysia’s Chairman of Advisory Board, Prof Emeritus Dato’ Abang Abdullah Abang Ali is appointed as fellow by Islamic Information Centre in Kuching Sarawak. The appointment was together with seven other experts to assist in communicating and researching Islamic knowledge.
KUCHING: The Islamic Information Centre (IIC) has appointed eight experts in various fields as fellows.
A press statement said each of the individuals appointed would assist IIC in different areas of expertise, especially in communicating and researching Islamic knowledge in Sarawak.
IIC said the appointments would help in disseminating and communicating information and knowledge on Islam in a multi-religious and multi-ethnic state like Sarawak.
The fellows appointed for a three-year term are Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) board of directors chairman Datu Dr Hatta Solhi (fellows’ chairman), Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak general manager Datu Abang Mohamad Shibli Abang Muhamad Nailie, state mufti Sahibus Samahah Kipli Yasin, Chemical Company of Malaysia Bhd board integrity committee chairman Datuk Nik Mustapha Nik Hassan, Syariah Judiciary Department Sarawak chief judge Awang Suhaili Ledi, Chief Minister’s Department special administrative officer Datuk Norhyati Ismail, International Islamic University of Malaysia Architecture and Environment Design lecturer Prof Emeritus Dr Ismawi Zen and World Assembly of Muslim Youth advisory council Datuk Abang Abdullah Abang Mohamad Alli.
Since its inception in 2008, IIC has been dedicated to communicating information and knowledge on Islam through its various programmes and activities.
